Bess... is a gorgeous black retriever x who was rescued from Cork pound a few weeks ago, where she had ended up as a stray.  Like many of our Irish dogs, she has some white on her chin, but she is a young dog -  we think 2-3 years old. She almost certainly has some collie in there, but she has a typical, very affectionate, gentle retriever temperament and loves people.  Many Irish dogs live outside, but we think Bess was a house pet as she  is house-trained and walks well on a lead.

Off-lead, Bess is a bit of a free spirit (!) and will run off to explore. She checks in with you every few minutes, but her recall will need some work. She’s also athletic and has jumped the 5ft fence at her current foster home (although then just hangs around outside).  She gets on fine with other dogs, but is not interested in them, much preferring people. She will do best in a home where she can have all the attention or perhaps just with one other dog.  She loves children, but can be quite boisterous

Bess is neutered, vaccinated and wormed.  f you would like to know more about this lovely girl who is desperate for a home to call her own,  please email info@blackretrieverx.co.uk

The cost of transporting a dog from Ireland (which we organise) is £65 in addition to a voluntary adoption fee.
