Betty...  landed in Ashton pound 10 days ago - a big, beautiful, sweet and gentle black retriever who has clearly been loved and well cared-for. Everyone was astonished when she wasn’t reclaimed, but her owner’s loss is our gain for Betty is a beauty - perhaps a little buxom at the moment, but still totally gorgeous! Indeed in some of these pix she looks very like a purebred flatcoat, but is probably a retriever/collie x.

Her foster mum, Nina,  says she is just lovely - a very affectionate, quiet girl (although this could change!) who shadows her everywhere.  She is a big dog, not a total youngster, but still playful (perhaps three years old?) who loves children and other dogs.

UPDATE 16/12/07

Beautiful Betty arrived two days ago and after a  weekend break in Cheshire, we have just delivered her to what we hope will be her forever home in Dorset . (A big thank you to Chris and Sally in Poole!)

She’s a little smaller than we anticipated - an absolute sweetie and a pretty, quietly playfyl girl who seems to take everything in her stride. She will be a wonderful family dog.

There is a minimum adoption fee of £100 for Betty, which includes the £65 it costs to transport her to the UK from Ireland.
