DILLON... is a gorgeous young black retriever x (almost certainly lab/collie) who manages to look different in each of these pix. So is he the puppyish cheeky-chappy in the top pic? The less confident boy in the middle pic? Or the older, positively soulful young man in the third pic? All will hopefully be revealed...
We don’t know much about Dillon yet other than that he has just landed in Dundalk dog pound as a stray and is super-friendly. He looks just lovely and I’d eat my hat if there’s an ounce of aggression in him. Ah, and the end of his tail is missing from what looks like an accident (now fully healed).
He looks very young in the top pic, but we think he’s about a year old - and we’ll be looking for a foster home for him when he arrives.
UPDATE 25/9/08
Young Dillon arrived last Friday and as we thought, he is lovely - an affectionate, wiggly, playful and happy boy who has settled in really with his foster family near Bath (a HUGE thank you to Wendy, Richard and their black retriever x Jed, who they adopted through us last year).
Dillon is a youngster - we think only about 10 months - and has much to learn - he jumps up, eats like a rabid wolf and your fingers are in danger if you give him a biscuit (so perhaps not the best choice for a family with young children). But he’s wonderful with other dogs, ignores the cat , is 90 per cent house-trained (just a couple of excited small pees on the kitchen floor) and is good off-lead. A very retrievery boy - one we think crossed wit some spaniel as he has a partly-docked tail. He’s medium-sized but he still has some growing to do.

There will be an adoption fee of £125 for Dillon, which includes the £65 it costs to transport him from Ireland.
