Echo... was surrendered to Dundalk Pound with his friend, a boxer x, a couple of weeks ago. Their owner desperately wanted the two dogs to stay together but sadly this hasn’t been possible.
Echo is a very handsome, quite calm, well-behaved boy who is very affectionate and gets on well with other dogs. He travels well in the car and is quite good on the lead. We think he is between two and three years old.
Echo is fully vaccinated (inc kennel cough) and has been neutered. He will be arriving in the UK in 7-8 days’ time. We are very short of foster homes at the moment and would love to hear from anyone who could offer Echo a home, even if just short-term, Christmas is no time for kennels...
UPDATE 25/12/07
A huge thanks to Matt and Heather in Wiltshire who have offered Echo a refuge over Christmas. He’s proving a terrific house guest - affectionate, playful and wonderful both on and off-lead. He’s quite a confident boy and very good with other dogs but does tell off Fern, Matt and Heather’s beagle, if she gets a bit too much for him. “She’s a bit over the top sometimes and needs it!:” says Matt, “so we’re actually fine with that! He isn’t nasty with it - just lets her know when he’s had enough.”
Very handsome boy this one... If you are tempted, please email info@blackretrieverx.co.uk
There is a minimum adoption fee of £100 for Echo, which includes the £65 it costs to transport him to the UK from Ireland.

UPDATE 31/12/07
Echo’s foster mum and dad, Matt and Heather, have decided they would like to offer Echo a “forever” home, which is great news with which to start the New Year . Good luck Echo - you’re a very lucky boy!
