MOLLY... is the sweetest collie x girl, medium-sized and six years old.  Molly’s owners both lost their jobs recently and sadly decided they couldn’t afford to keep Molly any more and so handed her in to Dundalk pound.

Molly had been with them since she was a puppy and she was pretty shell-shocked . It was clear from the faraway look in her eyes that she just wanted to go home.  Absolutely heart-breaking.

Fortunately for Molly, there’s an amazing woman called Ann Moore who helps rehome the dogs that come into Dundalk before they are put to sleep.  She asked us if we would take Molly and how could we refuse?

She arrived three weeks ago now and she’s just lovely - no great shakes to look at, perhaps, but the absolutely perfect pet for a family looking for an  easy, obedient girl.  Or rather obedient unless she’’s in a lake where there are ducks (as we discovered yesterday). She really, REALLY loves the water though, and it would be fantastic if her new home has access to duck-free water. She is very active on walks but  is as quiet as a mouse in the house.

Molly is lovely with people and children gets on fine with other dogs, but is not particularly interested in them and so we think she’ll do best in a home where she gets all the attention. She feels things deeply and is still a bit of a shrinking violet at times who, bless her, will go and huddle in a corner if she thinks you’re upset with her.

Molly is fully vaccinated but has never been spayed.  Her former owners claim she has never come into season, which is just about possible but we think unlikely.  Just in case it’s true, though, we have made the decision to wait and see what happens as it seems a shame to spay her if unnecessary.

There is a minimum adoption fee of  £125 for  Molly which includes the £65 it cost to transport her from Ireland.
