ORLA’s puppies... are English Setter crosses and they’il be looking to go to their new homes in mid-July. It is too early to be sure of their parentage on the male side but our best guess so far is that Dad was a collie boy. There are four boys and three girls - mostly black and white, although some have some tan on them too.

Obviously, we still have quite a lot to learn about Orla herself, and we will never know much about her boyfriend (don’t think she did either, the hussy...) but thanks to terrific foster mum Ky, tthese will be well-socialised pups given the very best start in life so you can be sure of the “nurture” part of the equation!

More pix and info as they grow!

UPDATE 9/6/11

Orla’s pups are now three and a bit weeks old and are positively blooming - seven really healthy, chunky pups  (see below for the latest pix). They really could not have had a better start in life thanks to wonderful foster mum Ky who will make sure they are extremely well-socialised - and also used to the other dogs, cats, hens, ducks, goats and sheep on the farm.

As to their parentage, they look more like a setter/spaniel x than setter/collie x.

If you are interested in one of Orla’s pups, please email info@blackretrieverx.co.uk asap. Visitors are welcome now and they will be ready to go to their new home mid-July.

There is an adoption fee of £150 + VAT (total £180) for the pups which will include everything that needs doing being done.
