Prince... well believe it or not, this stunning young lad is a springer/rottweiller x, but he looks just like a labrador (labrador-sized, too) and he’s such a star that we’ve offered to help find him a great new home.
If Prince is familiar to you, it’s because we put him up on the website six months ago. We had several enquiries about him but in the end his owner couldn’t bear to part with him, - although he knew he wasn’t giving Prince the life he deserves. Well, we’ve been working behind the scenes since then and we’re delighted to be able to say that he will be arriving in the UK in two weeks’ time.
Someone is going to be very lucky. Prince is a lovely dog. He is 2 years old, black with a white blaze on his chest, and boasts the very best qualities of both his parent breeds - making him a bright, active, lovable softie who is terrific with people, kids, dogs and even cats. He’s great in the car, good both on and off lead, is house-trained, neutered and up to date with his vaccinations. A fabulous, well-adjusted boy who is looking for a new home through no fault of his own.
UPDATE 25/11//07
Prince arrived last weekend and is as soft, obedient and loving as we expected. But he is a very sensitive boy and he has been badly shaken by the trip over. (His first time ever in a cage. ) Although fine out and about (he is happy to let a puppy clamber all over him), at home he is nervous of visitors and protective of his foster mum, Moira. We want to get a bit more of a handle on this before placing him in his forever home and a behaviourist will see him this week.
Our instinct is that he will do best in a big and busy, experienced home with lots going on where he won’t be able to over-attach to any one person, but we’ll update as soon as we can.

UPDATE 3/12//07
Brilliant behaviorist Lez Graham (www.trainedforlife.co.uk) saw Prince today and we are delighted to report that Lez is confident that in the right home Prince is going to be absolutely wonderful, so we are happy to announce that he is officially on the transfer list!
Prince is a very sensitive boy and needs a calm but quietly authoritative, experienced owner to make him feel secure - also a home that will do something with him for he’s super-bright. He might find agility a bit noisy at the moment, but he has all the makings of a terrific obedience dog - a quick learner who yearns to please. He is also a really loving boy - very affectionate and full of kisses. Terrific with other dogs, too, and playful.
There’s something very moving about Prince. Foster mum Moira has done much to settle him in the past three weeks, but now he needs to find his forever family. Prince is the lost boy looking for somewhere to call home - and an owner he can follow to the ends of the earth. Prince is a great-looking boy and in superb condition - fit and with a gleaming coat. I’d be very proud to have him walking at my side.
