SHINE... is a stunner... a young gordon setter x boy who landed in Dunboyne pound 10 days ago.

He’s sweet and friendly and he’s just been moved into a foster home so we will update with more info as soon as we can.

UPDATE 29/11//08

Shine is now in foster in the UK (near us in Marlborough)  and he’s lovely - but we don’t think he is a gordon setter x, despite the colouring.  He’s smaller than expected and we think he’s almost certainly a spaniel/collie x. He also has a docked tail (another hint suggesting spaniel ancestry).

Shine is a good, easy and lovely boy - very affectionate, loves children, good with other dogs, pretty good off-lead and very good on-lead.  He has great muscle-tone so we think may have been used as a working dog.  And although he settles well in the house and is not a “busy” dog, we think he will do best in an active, stimulating, rural home where he gets plenty of off-lead walks. He would enjoy a home with another dog as he loves to play!

Shine’s only “blip” is that he has a thing about doorways - tending to bolt through them, although this is getting better all the time.

We think Shine is between 1 and 2 years old - and he is fully vaccinated and neutered.

If you are interested in offering Shine a forever home, please email info@blackretrieverx.co.uk asap.

There will be  an adoption fee of  £125 for Shine, which includes the £65 it costs to transport  him from Ireland.
