TARKA... is a male black lab (purebred we think, subject to better pix) who was surrendered to Dundalk pound as a failed gundog along with english setter, Flyn.

Tarka is about a year old, and quieter than the flying Flyn - a shy, quite timid boy  who was shell-shocked to find himself in the pound.

More pix and info to come as soon as we get them.

UPDATE 14/10/08

Tarka, along with all the others in Dundalk pound, went down with kennel cough but is now well on the mend and will be on his way to us next week, with his frend Flyn. We are now desperate for a foster home that could take both dogs and will help us assess if they should stay as a pair or would do better separated.

Tarka has now been neutered and vaccinated and is, by all accounts, a lovely boy.

UPDATE 27/3/10

Tarka was rehomed at the tail end of 2008 to a lovely home in Suffolk who have just sent us the new pix below. TK, as he’s now called, is very happy, full of life and is doing very well in his training classes. “He has just gained the Bronze Canine Good Citizen Award and is going for his Silver,” says mum Jane who he is devoted to. Thanks for the update, Jane - we do love to get them! And what a beautiful boy he is!
